To the memory of my friend, my brother, my fellow traveller, Corey D.
You asked me to listen, I tried to hear you. You asked me what I thought, and I told you what had worked for me. You asked me for my love, and I gave it to you to the best of my ability.
You had asked me to understand your pain, but I could not feel it. You asked me to feel your pain, but I could not see the how parched your soul was, how void of light your vision had become.
When you first asked for help, I told you that all I have is my truth to give, to share with you on your journey, that I would give you all that I could, you could take what you like and that I would not judge you if you chose to take nothing at all. And so whilst I’m not sure just how much I was able to do for you, I know how much your were able to do for me.
I continue to try and teach myself, to learn, how to love without condition. I seek no reward, no gain, and as I give of myself, what I can and without expectation, I gain spirituality, I receive the reward of universal love and I understand what it means, for me, to open my heart.
Thank you, for your love, for letting me in, for allowing me to be a part of your life.
